Our Story
AED Everywhere started in a Starbucks in Bellevue, Washington in 2004. Our founder Chuck Malott was climbing Mt. Rainier that year and met Mike Rice from Cardiac Science for a cup of coffee and an AED demo. Chuck’s father died of sudden cardiac arrest in 1969 while on a business trip working for IBM. As a result, he became very interested in AEDs and their potential to save lives. After the demo Chuck believed that “AEDs should be everywhere” so AED Everywhere the company was born. Over the years since that first meeting, we have placed over 12,000 AEDs in schools, police Vehicles, offices, churches, businesses, homes and even parks. In that time, we have had countless reports of lives saved by devices we have helped place in our communities.
Our overriding goal is to make a difference by helping reduce the 250,000 deaths a year caused by sudden cardiac arrest. Please join us in our quest to save lives and make a difference!
